CITY MEALS ON WHEELS (COVID-19)

During the 2020 Corona Virus quarantine, PHAW donated its manufacturing facility to City Meals on Wheels to help with logistics & storage of non-perishable goods. City Meals was preparing thousands of meals for NYC’s elderly, while also pairing up with NYC’s top chefs (& utilizing their kitchens) to continue helping those most vulnerable and in need.

Camp Sundown (XPS)

PHAW VP, Daniel Sperling, co-founded an exotic car/trace track event - the annual Wilzig Racing Manor (WRM Gives) charity after discovering Camp Sundown and their impending bankruptcy in 2013. Camp Sundown is the only camp in the United States catered towards children a very rare skin disease, Xeroderma Pigmentosum (XPS). With a rich background in the automotive community, Daniel, and Wilzig Racing Manor owner, Alan Wilzig, co-founded this high-spirited annual charity event which helps raise Camp Sundown’s entire annual operating budget year-over-year. 

Since 2013, the charity has raised over $300k, and has grown to benefit other organizations, Race Cars 4 A Cause for military vets and High & Mighty equine therapy for special needs.

CENTURION FOUNDATION

Daniel Sperling, board director, has aided the foundation with fundraising and technological developments. The Centurion Foundation supports numerous law enforcement agencies both locally and nationally, with primary emphasis on the NYPD and the NY State Police. They provide support for widows and orphans of officers injured or killed in the line of duty. They also provide funding for training and scholarships for police officers and their children. Educational programs directly supported include training on counter-terrorism and homicide investigation. In addition, they support various department needs and programs for widows and orphans in the tri-state area and Florida.
